Laboratory

The laboratory is a testbed for things experimental, innovative, or just plain weird. WebQuarter
designers (mad scientists, all) have labored long nights creating this outré collection
of gizmos, gadgets and toys. Some will find practical use in websites, while others will
leave you wondering, Mother of God, what were they thinking?
So sit back, relax and enjoy. But be warned: these experiments are, uh... experimental,
and may cause (minor) brain damage.

Project: Flashbird
Inspired by an artist's rendering of birds dissolving from a twilight sky, this piece
was created because... well, we just couldn't get the image out of our heads. Flash
proved to be the perfect vehicle for this charming little animation.

Project:
Scary Organ
Created with Macromedia Flash, the Scary Organ uses ActionScript to control movie
clips embedded within the file. It's a great example of how sound loops can be used
to decrease overall file size. It's also fun to play with! |

Project: Time
Machine
Dynamic HTML powers the WebQuarter Time Machine. Masquerading as a toy, this little
gizmo features actions that change on-the-fly according to user input. Such powerful
programming can be used to make intelligent forms, data-driven sites and other Web
applications.

Project: Flash
Poetry
An amateur genealogist, WebQuarter's Managing Partner has been researching her family
history for more than 5 years. This piece is her tribute to the American Dream. Flash?
Poetry? Fluff? You decide. . .
